Silverware was secured by the way of sudden-death penalty shoot-outs in both the Carabao and FA Cups, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas scoring the decisive spot-kicks to become the heroes. In the Premier League, Liverpool chased Manchester City right to the final whistle, with just one solitary point separating the two teams. Days later in the UEFA Champions League Final in Paris, only an unbelievable performance by Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois denied the Reds a seventh European crown.
